06/14/2009 - Menu Foods pet food recall
I would love to hear of ONE person who as received compensation for expenses incurred as a result of their pet(s) being poisoned by Menu Foods products. My believe is NO ONE!
11/21/2007 - Re: Menu Foods pet food recall
The notice below appeared on the Menu Foods web site on May 24, 2007 and it is there exactly the same today. They don't move very fast, do they?
I too would like to hear from ONE pet owner who has received compensation for the death of or damage to a pet as a result of being fed contaminated Menu Foods products.

May 24, 2007
Dear Pet Owner:
Thank you for your interest in Menu Foods. Menu Foods wants to express sympathy to those pet owners whose pets have become sick or died, and to assure you that we are doing everything we can to address your concerns. It has always been our desire to compensate pet owners for reasonable expenses that we can identify as being caused by contamination of Menu Foods’ products.
On May 24, 2007, a United States federal court issued an order that, for the time being, prevents Menu Foods from having direct contact with individual U.S. pet owners. While we do not believe the prohibition extends to Canada, Menu Foods is reviewing how best we can be fair to both Canadian residents and U.S. residents, so that all of the claims of pet owners can be resolved. Until this review is complete, Menu Foods is not in a position to settle claims by Canadian pet owners. We will post additional information when our review is complete.

Get rid of annoying horizontal scroll bar in div and span tags that sometimes appears even though totally unnecessary. You might have specified overflow:auto and have this problem. Adding style="overflow-x:hidden;" in the tag definition should eliminate the undesirable behaviour.

07/04/2004 - warning!!!
Men, please read this if you go to bars or clubs:
Guys, be more alert and cautious when getting a drink offer from a girl. There is a drug called "beer" that is essentially in liquid form.
The most effective varieties are being shipped in from other countries. "Beer" is now being used by female sexual predators at parties to convince their male victims to have sex with them.
The shocking statistic is that this "beer" is available virtually anywhere! All girls have to do is buy a beer or two for almost any guy and simply ask the guy home for no-strings-attached sex. Men are literally rendered helpless against such attacks. Please! Forward this to every man you know...
There is safety in numbers...

Part II – Female Hormones Found in Beer
You have to hope that this study is flawed, but the evidence seems irrefutable.
Yesterday, scientists for Health Canada suggested that the results of a recent analysis revealed the presence of female hormones in beer, and suggested that men should take a look at their beer consumption. The theory is that drinking beer makes men turn into women. To test the theory, 100 men were each fed 6 pints of beer within a one-hour period. It was then observed that 100% of the men gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became overly emotional, couldn't drive, failed to think rationally, argued over nothing, had to sit down to pee, couldn't perform sexually, and refused to apologize when wrong.
No further testing is planned
07/10/2004 - Re: warning!!!
Actually, there is a news article on this site that I think sums it all up . . .
Beer - 01/08/2004 - Cliff Clavin explaining the Buffalo Theory to his buddy Norm.

It all makes sense now!
07/07/2004 - Re: I think dar just scored a point
Yesterday, scientists in a further test to prove their theory fed 100 men 12 pints of beer and observed that 100% of them started to talk nonsense and couldn't drive.

Bark!!!
07/08/2004 - Beer
Question...?...All this research...you folks mention ...does it apply to low CARB beer..I find the low carb makes me much more sexually active (I hate to brag but sometimes 5 times a night, maybe 6 on weekends....) Thus the more sex the less whining or your aforementioned problems with the spouse....Then we can just lay back and enjoy our French Fries......
Regards,
Mark

How come the song of the day is always the same ......if that is to be so !! ..how about some good stuff like John Kay's "My Sportin' Life" or some classic Stones..?......Can a member submit songs!! to be included...In the same vain how come there are only three people who ever access this website....Perhaps there should be an online membership fee....and we could get some value for our money...

who says only three people visit here and who are they
06/06/2004 - Re: Song of the day (SOD)
This is encouraging. Maybe there are FOUR people who actually use this site! Variety in the "SOD" is in the making. I might make it so that members may be able to upload their own choice and then have the "SOD" be a random play thing.

Uncle Ron's work is impressive, we could use him here. Are you still fighting off the shower curtains every time you have a shower? Can't wait to see the finished product.

b)

strText = trim(strText)
if strText <> "" and isNull(strText) = False then
strText = replace(strText,"'","''")
end if
SQLEncode = strText
end function
Was giving me problems with defining events. The ' character within a string can be a bitch.

04/14/2004 - Bob's Last Post
Dear Friends,
It is important for men to remember that as women grow older it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as they did when they were younger. When men notice this, they should try not to yell.
Let me relate how I handle the situation. When I got laid off from my consulting job and took "early retirement" last April, it became necessary for Nancy to get a full-time job, both for the extra income and for the health benefits that we need. It was shortly after she started working that I noticed that she was beginning to show her age.
I usually get home from fishing or hunting about the same time she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says that she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts supper. I try not to yell, instead I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she finally does get supper on the table.
She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. It is now not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after supper. I do what I can by reminding her several times each evening that they aren't cleaning themselves. I know she appreciates this, as it does seem to help her get them done before she goes to bed.
Now that she is older she seems to get tired so much more quickly. Our washer and dryer are in the basement. Sometimes she says she just can't make another trip down those steps. I don't make a big issue of this. As long as she finishes up the laundry the next evening I am willing to overlook it. Not only that, but unless I need something ironed to wear to the Monday lodge meeting or to Wednesday's or Saturday's poker club or to Tuesday's or Thursday's bowling or something like that, I will tell her to wait until the next evening to do the ironing. This gives her a little more time to do some of those odds and ends things like shampooing the dog, vacuuming or dusting. Also, if I have had a really good day fishing, this allows her to gut and scale the fish at a more leisurely pace.
Nancy is starting to complain a little occasionally. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. In spite of her complaining, I continue to try to offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days.
That way she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any, if you know what I mean.
When doing simple jobs she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I try not to embarrass her when she needs these extra little rest breaks. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. I tell her that as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me and take her break by the hammock so she can talk with me whilst I drift off to sleep.
I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Nancy on a daily basis. I'm not saying that the ability to show this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible. No one knows better than I do how frustrating women can become as they get older. However guys, even if you just yell at your wife a little less often because of this article, I will consider that posting it was worthwhile.
Signed, Bob
Bob's funeral was on Saturday, January 25th.
Nancy was acquitted Monday, January 27th.
